Speedometer Fluctuating

My speedometer is fluctuating sporadically, it doesn't happen all the time but every now and then it'll start jumping around or registering incorrect speed usually faster than what is being driven. Does anybody know what this possibly can be?
 
I believe it's the stepper motors on the back of the speedometer. My 2008 FX35 does the same thing... needs a complete new or used speedometer assembly.

Your issue is probably different from Yo's as Yo has one of those limited "FC" 35's. :rofl:

I have the same issue in my 2008. It will get stuck at about 65 mph when I am going 80. It will just randomly correct itself, then drop back down to 65. Also, it will sometimes stay at 20 mph when come to a complete stop. Once I start accelerating, the speed will go up from 20 mph. It is pretty annoying.
