Speedmaster :: 2007 Infinti FX35 AWD

Thank you guys. I was very busy with a lot of other projects and other priorities that I fall back on the mod. Now the mod bug slowly started to warm up on me again. LOL

Hey Adam. Welcome back! My subscription expired thus decreases my inbox allocation. I was very busy lately and had been out of circulation for a bit.

My passenger side Morimoto 5000k HIDs headlight went out and my passenger side Morimoto 600k HIDs started to flicker so I decided to replace both headlights and fog lamp HIDs. For the headlight, I replaced it with a set of new Osram 5500k. As for the fogs, I ordered the Morimoto retrofit replacement 5500k HIDs to match it with the headlights.

I've been planning for quite sometime to go down from 600k HID fogs to 5500k as I noticed drivers ahead of me seems to be bothered with the superbright 600ks which had me use my fogs sparingly.

I was pleasantly surprised that the new replacement HIDs from Morimoto consists of a removable socket type HID bulb that connects to a braided connector cables. This is a great idea from The Retrofit Source since the old welded type HID bulbs seems limiting when replacing busted bulbs.

See comparison of the mounted right 5500k HIDs vs the old 6000k. The 5500k had a yellowish tinge on it while the old 6000k gives off a bluish tinge.

I think I only paid around $45-60 bucks for the replacement HID fog bulbs since I already have the existing HID fog retrofit from a previous install.

The HID fog retrofit kit cost around $160-170 if I remembered it right from The Retrofit Source. I will look up the links to our vehicle specific and send it to you once I reach home tonight.

Nice mods,

Thanks Wayne. I haven't done other new mods yet for quite sometime. Was hoping to pull the trigger on Akebono BBK but maybe have to push it back after just doing the brake pad change. I am contemplating of either trading it in for a newer gen FX or purchase a new vehicle and hand it down to my son who will be driving within the next year. Until then, probably will hold off on mods other than basic maintenance and keeping her clean.
