Specific sub upgrade

I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade the sub in the trunk without taking up cargo space? Like is it possible to remove the old sub and puta new one in the spare tire well? Thanks everyone!

There's been a few people that have done this already. Can't remember the threads fibre now, but check jumborule's thread on big red. He has a nice setup with a false floor.

I think I read someone was going to start fiberglassing a sub box that future in the soared tire, I'll look for it when I get home.

this is my soon to be my next project as my jl box is big and the place my sub was installed does custom boxes if i start it i can ask and see if they willing to make several boxes but can't make promises

I replaced the amp for the stock sub and more than doubled its output, and I'm currently modifying the oem box to accommodate these:

So far I've sourced the new woofers, cut the front baffle off the old box, and found a 24" square piece of 1/2" plexiglass to remake the front baffle (top) with the two larger and symmetrical driver openings. If everything works like I hope it will, I'll make a thread for it. If not....I'll have a couple awesome 6.5" woofers for sale. ;)

Jumbo's setup is probably my favorite, but the deal breaker for me is that it takes the place of the spare tire.

I wonder if the kicker hs8 hideaway sub would fit under seat... It's a lot better than I expected it to be and had one in my last vehicle. Having said that its not going to compare to a custom fab set up or anything higher end...
