speaker replacements

I've got a bunch of spare MBQuarts sitting in my garage cabinet, along with two sets of DLS Iridium 6.3i's (three ways) I'd like to put to use. I see the stock speakers are 4" in the dash and 6.5" in the doors.

What's the impedance the Bose amp is looking for? 2ohm (typical)? or 4ohm?

I believe the speakers are 4 ohm. i have read some members have used the Boston Acoustics S35 for the front dash speakers.

Im looking into some right now...

is this simply replacing stock speakers with the upgraded speakers? or does all of the speakers need to be replaced?

you can just do the dash speakers. Some have replaced the center speaker also, while others like it disconnected.

you can then do front door speakers
then rear doors and pillars
larger sub / amp

so i could take out my CDT 6.5 components out of my old car and simply replace the door speakers? would i be able to replace any of the front dash ones with the tweeters that came with the CDT. im only really interested in changing the front door speakers for now.

the three in the dash are 4" so putting tweeters only up there are kind of wonky. I think there's a 4"/tweeter combo in each dash spot and the front 6.5" are midbass.

I've been trying to sell my Quarts to no avail so I might as well put them in the wife's FX. Only issue I have is hiding the crossovers...they're massive.

I just ordered some Boston Acoustic S35 3 1/2' for the dash. I saw a couple of other post about using these and I found really great detailed DIY on it too.

I tried those harness' from crutchfield and they wouldnt work for me. They plugged in, but very tightly, and would not make a connection. I ended up having to splice in a new speaker wire.
