Took the 3 plus out on the drivers side using the DIY posted. Installed first new plug but I can not get the plug socket off of the plug. The extension just keeps pulling off of the socket. Any ideas? I don't want to mess up the inside wall around the plug trying other things?

I just had a idea to back the plug out remove the plastic gasket that holds the plug and retry that way? Is that good or bad? Don't want to strip anything out

Sounded like you got a brand new spark plug socket there, lol. I would back the plug out, then rub a light light coat of engine oil into the rubber gasket of the socket. I would even try some baby powder on the rubber part too. The point is to make the rubber gasket not too sticky to the ceramic part of the plug and then re-install the plug. Another tip that works for me is when you about to tighten it down back the plug out a couple of turn, then wiggle the socket loose from the plug, then lightly insert the socket back onto the plug enough that it catch the side of the plug so that you can finish tighten it all the way down. I would also try a different extension too. The one you're using may be a problem as well.

If you remove the rubber gasket from the socket, it might be hard to keep the plug from sliding off the socket as you insert it into the plug well.
