Spacers on 2009 FX35

The hubs are separate from the spacers. They are an exact fit. Just put on 20mm on the fronts today. Ichiba v2. No rubbing or vibrations. Got a deal. My mech only charged me $20. It makes the cars stance look as aggressive as the body style. Looking forward to the Eibachs or H& Rs.

Aras,

Do you have any pics of your front wheels with the 20mm spacers you installed a year and a half ago?

I just got a 09 AWD and I want to install spacers. I saw your rear wheel pics and I like it. I have the same wheels (OEM 20").

Would you have gone 30mm on the back now if you could do it again or would you stick with 25mm?
Thanks,

20 in the front is perfect imo... Really depends if you're going low with the rears.. 30 mm would make you flush flush, like herra frush in the rear, however if you go low you will likely need to roll and trim..

Almost forgot about this thread. Been wanting to do spacers for a while now but not sure what sizes to get. I was thinking 20mm in the back and 15mm in the front because of the slight camber issue I have with the springs. I just don't want the bottom part of the rear tires to stick out too much past the splash guards. Probably should do some measuring and see whats best.

I'm like you Jesse, I have been thinking about it. When I reinstall my summer rims I am going to take some measurements.
My Enkei GTC 01s are 20/8.5" with a 40mm offset. I was thinking of Icbida V2 15 mm spacers all around. I want the built in studs, but I wonder if the wheels will stick out too far. I don't want any poke, but I'm wondering if this would be okay since my wheels are only 8.5" wide.

Wayne, I would go at least 5mm wider in the rear.. I have the equivalent of 20 mm spacers all around and the rears can take another 5-10 if you want it to be flush flush flush.. You know what I mean.

Ian remember, our OEM wheels on the 2nd Gen in all sizes is an offset of 50mm. My Aftermarket are 40mm, so you are saying I should push them out another 20mm, so then they would be the equivalent of 20 mm offset wheels.

My current setup now is 265-40-22 on 22x9 et 30 wheels.. I'm flush up front and a slight tuck in the rear; 5-7 mm from the top arch of the wheel well.. I chose this because I knew I was going coils, if they ever come out, and I didn't want to have to trim anything..

Might be a good idea to compare our specs on an online calculator..?

Good info, thanks Ian:smile (2): and thank you balias

I'm not planning on dropping / lowering my FX right now. If that's the case, would 30mm be ok? I have a 94 RX7 which I have set up with a very aggressive flush set up. It looks great and that's the look that I'd like to get on my FX.

So, if the car is on stock shocks, would 30mm in the rear and 20mm in the front work?

Would a 30mm spacer cause any issues as far as putting undue stress on the hubs or lug bolts?

I'm planning on going with the Ichiba V2s.

Thank you all for the help.

Dwaynedadon,

Looking forward to seeing the pics. Great looking vehicle and I really like your OEM 21s. Did you have them painted Grey? They look great!

Note/question:
I see that you're running OEM 21s and I'm running OEM 20s. Since your wheels are 9.5" wide and mine are 8" wide with the same offset, wouldn't that mean that your wheels are about 18mm closer to the ideal flush line of your fenders than mine before adding spacers? (essentially requiring us to run different thickness of spacers?

Here's the math that I'm using: Your wheel is 1.5 (~38mm) inches wider than mine. With the same offsets, you would have 3/4" (19mm) more width on either side of your wheel than mine. 19mm wider on the brake side and 19mm wider than me on the hubcap side. That means that you're 19mm closer to the ideal flush line of your fender than me before you add spacers. Unless the 21" OEMs have a larger offset or the 20" OEMs have smaller offset, which I don't think they do.

This is what makes purchasing spacers offline difficult and why I'm very interested in asking all of the smart guys on this forum before ordering the spacers.

Anyway, I can't wait to see the pics.

Thank you!

Aras was wondering if you ever got the fronts done as well. I'm thinking of buying the Ichiba V2 Spacers ( 15mm front & 25mm rear ) but not sure if it'll be a near perfect flush. I've noticed Ichiba also sells a 17mm if the 15mm, 22mm or even a 27mm. There's so many options I just want to buy the right set and be happy with the looks.

** update : Bought the spacers off eBay today, got a really good price from "E-Autosports" http://www.ebay.com/itm/33065527884...ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr#ht_4423wt_1438 and highly recommend him. I wanted to get them before I put my 21's on. Also hoping they will clear the Akebono's if I ever end up buying them. I should be receiving them next week and will post pictures in my garage.
