Hey guys! Ive been reading on this forum for a while now and with my 03-05 fx purchase nearing i figured it would be time to start getting my facts straight, since i plan to install an entire jl audio w7 and polk component speakers in the doors with a 1000/1 and hd600, like complete stereo overhaul, and black the grill wheels and smoke/paint lights, and delete the rear logo for a nismo badge within my first few months. Thanks for making this such a great place to learn about how to make your ride sick the right way guys. Im still torn between diamond like jbaker's, copper with black accents/tinted lights/powdered stocks, all blacked out or even navy tinted up like fxlr8's sleeek ride. Now is the time for you all to jump in and fight over which of these amazing machines I should choose haha.

Haha actually i did. Your so deeply rooted in this shit that i can barely look up anything for an aftermarket fx without seeing the amazing beast that made me wanna mess with one in the first place. It was that nismo exhaust video with the black rims that just made me think, wow, why buy a 06 cherokee srt8 stock when i can get an 05 fx for waay cheaper and make it dirty. Any thoughts on how that copper/tinted heads besides two circles for the lamps/black 20s/ black door handles/ smoked tails would look? I thought I could always get black wheels but i have yet to see someone go all out on a copper and i thought it could be pretty unique but sleek.

haha that's awesome man, I'm hoenstly glad I was the inspiration behind your decision to get an fx. About the jeep. yeah, it's fast, but it will never look as good and its still a jeep, you know? and with the money you save you can make hte fx just as fast if not faster eventually...which is the route i'm going now.

about the copper fx: hmmm Im not sure man but it may look pretty sick.... If i have time maybe i'll do a chop and just take a picture of mine and make the body color copper lol
 
I made a little photoshop mockup but i dont know how to post the picture if its not online already.. it did look sick though man. Im either going with that or with the diamond or blued out like fxlr8 both are just astonishing cars
 
Welcome to iS! I've always loved fxlr8's FX. You need 10 posts before you can put up pics though.

haha i will i just cant let myself drive a stock one for too long after spending an hour on this site. haha:ever:
 
I hear you man, once you get the itch.....been seven months since I took ownership. I have focused mainly on performance-Invidia exhaust, complete GT-Spec brace set-up, +2 timing advance, grounding gear, electric fan conversion (a FX45 dealeo), JWT pop-charger, H&R springs/spacers, with a Turbo cad grill, HID fogs and Mercedes signal mirrors thrown in there....over the next month I am going to finish up with some transmission work, colder plugs to help out the +2, and an UPREV tune then start in on some exterior visual work this spring. Have a party, I suggest you come up with an end result plan then go for it!

Good examples are JB's and Jumbo's FX's they have done a great job of creating their perfect ride.

Yeah man nice stuff. I just cant get between blacked out, silver/black or even that copper color haha. What did u think of that concept btw? But yea man idk whether to pick 35/45 03, 04, 05, 06 like too many choices that can end up limiting me later ahhh! haha. Im really diggin fxlr8's wheels today though haha Im definitely going something and black.

the messy part is that after I do these simple mods like wheels and tints/grill painting emblem delete , rear badge delete for a nismo, I gotta put in a huge stereo cus music is my main thing. Im thinking a jl audio cleansweep, 2 sets of polk sr components for the doors with a jl hd600.4, a jl 13w7 with a 1000/1, and hopefully no extra battery or alt or whatever. Id imagine the stcok batt and alt could handle around 1500-1600w rms without fail if i had a cap or something.

Its a long journey, and I hope ill be able to look back from the other end of the tunnel like you guys eventually. In the mean time, what do u think of the copper idea? Differences between 03,04,05,06? 45 vs 35? thanks for being such a cool crowd guys.
 
IMO-06' for the new interior, FX35 for potential performance upgrades (45 is Limited as to what you can do for big/easy power) and 2WD if you don't need 4WD. Color is totally personal.....but copper is cool and your intended body mods do look good. Sounds like audio/tech will be on your short list, lots of threads on that. Keep us posted!
 
haha i will... now i have to step back.. and go buy the car in the first place. Ill come back to life when that happens haha thanks for the welcoming first 2 days guys:tup:
