285/35/22 would not rub or even come close to it unless the offset is really aggressive. Even with an aggressive offset, I think it wouldn't rub. I'm lowered with 285/35/22s on 22x9 +38 offset.

Yes it's aggressive. That'll stick out about 35mm which is about 10 mm more than what you have (265/40) now. Getting even wider tires than 285 will give you more bulge (because you're running 9" rims) which might cause you to rub but I don't think 285/35s will rub at all.. Dave has 305/35 on his 22x9s and lowered but I don't know his offset.

edit: here's dave's 305s:

I think My Offset is a 35, but since they're also Gia's it actually might be a 38.
Lowered w/ Eibachs & no rub. My drop (in comparison with everyone else's data that measured) is actually the lowest on the board with those springs. (dunno why)

yea, not only are my offset pretty agressive, i dont know the #s, but i had spacers front & back to push the wheels further out. Look at the pictures its even pass the flush line of the fender by a teeny bit.
The only time it would rub is going up a steep hill on full lock. Im lowered with eibachs and even with 5 people, it doesnt rub. no worries.
