So there were a change of plans!

So yesterday I drove from wichita ks to marriam ks " just south of kck" and picked up the fx45. as some of you know I was gonna buy some coilovers and wheels but to my surprise I am actually happy with its stock set up. coming from a 95 town car with faded paint and no a/c, this fx is a cream puff. so i decided to take that money for mods and pay it to the principle of the car loan. I made a new goal to myself! buy all the mods AFTER I pay it off. someone give me a " good idea" or a "i would do that too" to motivate me lol. my goal is to pay off 17883 in 12-14 months. and my wife thanks this is a good idea too so now I got brownie points with her!

that's the best thing you can ever do man, I almost died trying to convince myself to pay off my loan first but gave in to the temptation and did a few mods. luckily, I have been doing very good in terms of paying the loan off. So PAY THE LOAN OFF FIRST. Congrats on the purchase and enjoy your ride.
p.s. this is what they did to me...

lol i read that, theres alot of people that did not make it easy did they. you know i like the stock wheels to i wonder how they would look painted black on the orange?

CopperFX has the black on orange going on and he's done a very good job. but don't just do black wheels only. you have to add more black to pull it off, for e.g. black emblems, grille, tires...:tongue (2):

Makes sense to pay it off first. All of my big budget projects were done that way, the FX is not one of those lol.

If necessary do small upgrades in the meantime like sport headlights and tailights from the 05+, whatever else floats your boat, and of course the basic maintenance. When looking for those mods take your time though, good deals can be found with perseverance.

Good luck resisting with the urge to buy mods for the next 12-14 months. I will not be able to wait like another four years to pay mine off then mod it, lol. I just started to mod my FX since July and have no plans to stop soon :wink (2):

But yes, "small" upgrades like the headlights and taillights are a nice start and really transform the look of our liquid coppers too. Im even in the process of upgrading to the newer 06+ bumper as we speak and side moldings eventually. Hopefully you can maintain discipline and not mod it, because I couldnt! :smile (2):

good luck not modding while being on this site . while paying off the balance, you can do small things here and there (hard to resist).

Town car to fx - that must feel like night and day in the handling department.

Enjoy the ride and do some research while you pay it off. This site is great to learn about mods you never even knew existed!

Definitely the grown up decision! I'm in the same boat is you, took me a year to pay it off. Got mine at steven's in wichita. Lived there for 2 years. Good purchase man, always wanted a copper fx
