so my recent acquisition of an FX45, 2004, had one caveat, the car randomly will shut down while driving. i had recently had posted a few question regarding cam and or crank sensors causing the issue. i dont think thats what is going on, i had the "slip" light and the VDC light come on and shut off the cruise control, but the vehicle stayed running. the roads were bare and dry, and after we reached our destination, and stopped for an hour the system reset and ran fine until about 20 minutes into our return trip. The slip and VDC light came on again and the engine began to sputter and then we lost power, on the way up a hill, in the dark...my wife lost her mind...she thought we were going to get smoked by a vehicle coming around the corner. after 10 minutes and 3 attempts it finally restarted and we made our way back down the hill and sat for half an hour. the previous owner seemed to think the problem occurred when the vehicle was hot, but im in canada and its fairly cool at night so i dont think thats it. we made the last leg of the 45 minute drive , with the slip and vdc light on but it kept running, however i drove it quite gingerly and didnt really push up the revs. any ideas as to what might be going on???:eek.:
