So I'm getting my Navigation updated on Wed.

Yes, it does require a key code. Unique to the VIN, Radio and some other number and version already installed!

They have their bases covered!

Regular price of 250.00. Buy up til June 30th for 199.00 promotional offer.

Navigate to the infinitiusa.com site and look for the navigation update link. Enter some basic info and you get the price and version. It's version 9 2012.

Comes with 5 disks. First one is software and the other 4 are the NAVTEQ disks. Super easy to install. Directions included. Also requires some info off the radio that needs to be placed into the fields when you order it.

Took about a week to get. Had it shipped it to my work address. The guy that delivers at home has sticky fingers.

edmarin,

I'd share with you but NAVTEQ does not like the idea very much. I bought the upgrade for my Ram 3500 and shared with my boss. Like Infiniti it required a unique key code and failed to install on his Ram 2500. I got one $%#@ of a phone call from NAVTEQ. Some how they knew what was happening and threatened to charge my card again if I did not return the disc. Someone's watching!

Discussions about sharing navigation discs is prohibited from infinitiscene in both posts and PM. Any further posts related to asking/inquiring/suggesting sharing discs (as it is illegal) will receive an infraction, post pulled, and can lead to being banned from infinitiscene.

edmarin,

It's a crap shoot spending the $$ on the update and what you're getting for updates! I belong to another board for my truck and some of the guys got an off the shelf GPS for the 200 bucks and get lifetime map updates included in the purchase price. I guess you have to weigh if you want another device hanging off your dash. Before the truck I had the GPS hanging off the dash. More like a neon sign saying look take me! I've never had it happen. The wife has, so has my co-worker. If you order the disks before the end of June they are discounting the purchase price by 50 bucks. My wife find the indash units very cumbersome to work. Also the off the shelf units can transfer to another vehicle easly, such as a RAC or in my case one of the other's in the fleet.

I agree with your statement above 100%. I have a Garmin Nuvi with a 5" screen, bluetooth and traffic which I like better than my built in OEM unit.
When we go on long trips I use my Garmin instead of my OEM nav.

I was in Best Buy this afternoon looking at the off the shelf GPS units. I was eyeing the 7" screen ones a few months ago. They were gone. I asked the guy what happened to the 7" screen ones. Apparently the 7" screens are now outlawed in VA he claimed and next year in VA no more windshield mounted units either!

I have a cupholder mount for my 5" Garmin Nuvi, it works perfect in most vehicles.

I called Infiniti today using the number on the site and specifically asked about an August update. The phone rep said the current version (8.4) came out last Dec. and that they only update very 12-18 months. That doesn't explain the current reduced price good till the end of July.
Thanks for the link!
