Slip and VDC Off Lights?

So went to lunch today and right after shifting into to Drive my Slip light and VDC Off lights come on. Stop at the restaurant and start the car back up and the lights are off again.

Just wondering what causes this? Going to be bringing the FX in soon to the dealer so want what ever it is fixed prior to the warranty expiring...

Were you driving it hard or with a heavy foot prior to the light? I have the same problem at times with the stuck light.
 
Not really no, on my way in I pushed it a little, nothing major...Then went out to go to lunch, probably 4-5 hours later and the first thing I notice is the Slip and VDC Off lights on. Literally put it in reverse and barely hit the gas to start moving and it came on...
 
Stock 18's, brake were done about 6 months ago I was told, just picked this up a few weeks ago.

No code reader here, could run to autozone and have them pull the code it self.

Also, how is your brake fluid and alignment?
 
I will try to get the codes tonight.

Didn't check today, but when I got back from mexico checked everything over and the brake fluid is good. Alignment is dead on from what I can tell.
 
was thinking brake fluid level but that always is accompanied by the red brake light...

if it was a one time thing woulda said maybe one wheel slipped on a banana peel or something, but recurring guess not.. & it still wouldn't stay on anyway...
 
I was told the same thing, that its fluids that cause the light to come on. who knows for sure, cause I've checked the fluid levels they were fine and the light came on and went off. The dealer said don't worry unless the light stays on. haven't seen it since, now it time to check my belts lil noisy in the a.m....

How about your steering wheel? when you drive it straight does it look straight? It may not pull to one side which would indicate that your Alignment is good, but does the stearing wheel look straigt?

Anything that has to do with Break fluid, pads, and rotors, will have a Red Break light along with the VDC and Slip.
 
ok my VDC and Slip light came on today (1st time )

FACT: I am due for an oil change and the on board computer was telling to to PIT - oil change- (I set the interval myself)

I ignored the reminder since I had to goto vegas over the weekend. (so maybe ~600 miles over the setpoint)

when I first saw the light I drove around until I could park. restarted engine and cleared the GPS stuff and lights were still off. turned off engine.

then I restarted the engine , this time I didn't clear the GPS stuff and the lights came on as soon as I stepped on the brakes.

I was able to keep the lights off until I changed the oil.

but before I did the oil change, I reset the oil change reminder for another 5500 miles.

Light did not come back.

changed oil and light has not come back.

do you guys think it is related to the message from the on board computer ?(ie oil change reminder)

hope this helps in finding an answer to the mystery.
 
No I doubt it as the oil change light came on for many a times and never with a VDC and/or slip light. It was probably a coincidence. When the oil change maintenance reminder comes on I just turn it off until I can get the oil changed then I reset it. But do you think you need brake service or your brake fluids are low?
