Silver Surfer - FX45 :: 2006 Infiniti FX45

Yeah, pretty excited about this Joe! CAM's should be completed this weekend, should be firing it up next week, fingers crossed. Hah, the rush of the being the first, the fear of unknown issues =).......still need the headers finished and coated, and two more parts, one of which is the Pulley from Nate. Anybody heard from Nate?

CAM's and springs are all set, time to rebuild. at this stage it was almost to the point of where pulling the engine would be easier.

Latest pic - Underside of manifold ported, ground smoothed and cleaned up. Rather than polishing manifold is going in for Chromex coating. Engine cover bracket supports have now been ground off and all wires cords tubes will be re-routed around manifold accordingly.

Top of the manifold - Minus engine cover standoffs (no going back on this one), heading out for coating tonight.

Posting this 4-2-1 header image as a reference shot, more coming later today that should be better. Final thermal coat will be a silver gold metallic.

Image #1 Drivers side is now done. Image #2 Shot of headers side by side. Pictures are pretty weak (no complaints, glad he is taking the time to capture the build), I hope to get some decent shots of my own soon. If all goes well they will be going in for coating this week.......

Just realized he has used the thick G35 extension flanges and bolted them up directly to the headers, plan is to try the system first W/O HFC's, if its too loud he'll add 300 cell HFC's back in. So......equal length headers into a Nismo exhaust, wonder what that's going to sound like?

hmmmmmm I like the sound of that =) Really dying to hear it fire up......

Hey, Speaking of Cobras (check out the glove box in the image) the guy who is working on my FX works for a race shop who I found out was started as a service shop for a guy who races in Seattle. Started out small, now he has all these full time guys and they take on side work (like my job). Charles was like "hey man check this out"...we walk into the back shop which stores some exotics (kind of standard fair for that type of shop) then we walk into another connecting shop.....all kinds of crazy S**T at least 10 racing corvettes, another 15 collectible Corvettes, track cars, can am stuff...unbelievable and it all drives. Probably 35 cars in there that he rotates out to either race or drive. Like all of us I've seen my share of car collections but this guy drives the hell out of everything in there.

Wow, those headers are big fat meanies :wink (2): They look awesome. Just hope it won't to obnoxious with the sound volume.
