Silver Surfer - FX45 :: 2006 Infiniti FX45

the only good thing in a situation like this is, by now you've almost forgotten all about your fx, so by the time you do get it back it will really feel like you got a new car at that point :) hey, what the hell, gotta at least try to look for something good even in a situation like this right? :) hope you get your baby back soon man...

Two guys, same boat, no oars. I would also like to see (or hear) your ride fire up man, going to be epic. What is your due date?

Question? Since I have 2 sets of gtr rears like you.. Did you have both front and rear fenders rolled? Or what did you do? Also what's your drop? fender to center of rim

I did rolled the rears but you really can't roll the front. I was able to bend the plastic clips up slightly by hand on the fronts and gain some clearance. If you need more room you can cut the clips and silicone the trim in place (that's what Turbo did, it works well w/no adhesion or moisture issues). Drop is reasonable 1.5 finger rear .5 finger front. I don't have my ride on hand so I can't measure it out for you, sorry man.

BTW - Looking forward to seeing your ride with the new set-up!

That gives me an idea.. Right now I just have the stock 20s on with 2655020 tires and I have about those measurements now.. When the GTR'S go on they'll have 2954020 all around and that's about an inch shorter then the stock tires

You will notice more torque due to the lesser circumference. When you drop to cover the gap you will also notice that the rears will camber in more than you expect (don't buy spacers quite yet) and and you will be low....you'll have to pull off your front flaps if you haven't already.

That's awesome about the torque, I'm also expecting speedo to be off a lil too.. Didn't know about the flaps, gonna have to do that and also not planning on spacers on GTR's, don't think it's necessary

Also did u add anything to the front or rear for the camber issues? Camber bolts, a-arms?

Regarding the spacers, I ended up with a 10mm front and a 5mm rear for nearly perfect flush. Camber in rear is off a bit, considered doing camber bolts, just never got around to it.

So back to this drop issue..

GTR's on, coils dropped.. Bout same measurements u have half a finger in front and finger and half maybe less in rear.. Rear fenders rolled, plastic trimmed but needs more trimming.. Fronts are currently rubbing, there's a little lip in the front and a tab where the plastics slide into.. Also another tab where the plastics are screwed into.. What did u do? What should I do? I'm starting to melt either rubber or plastic on my front tires

Front it's all plastic as you said. I let it rub the plastic down, wasn't concerned.

The rear, since its metal lip I (actually joe) shaved it.

You could take a heat gun to it and slowly push it in a bit of you wanted.

+1 for letting it rub in the front. There's no good and easy fix, and it kinda fixed it self by rubbing through the plastic. No issues since either.

There's a metal tab there I think, where the plastics screw into.. The screw and tab itself rub the tire I believe.. Rem I have a square set and it's wider than the staggered up front

I bent the tabs up in front by hand slowly. They may break if you work them too fast, letting them wear down is not a bad solution. I know that Turbocad removed the screws, cut the plastic back and siilconed them back on, plenty of room........

Looks great BTW. Can you feel the torque difference?
