Sidewall Rip

Just noticed this on my tire today, not sure what happened. I don't see a curb mark on the tire and am wondering if a tire could just do this on its own....

def hit something. my guess is a mechanics lift maybe... I did the exact same thing first week I put my yoko's on, just like that... just bumped a lift leg with it, the lift leg just popped out of the way, didn't think much of it till few days later I seen the gash.... very similar to that one too...

Haven't been to a mechanic with the new tires....maybe my wife hit a curb recently :frown:

Maybe a loose piece of metal on the road you did not see ..

It this on your front or rear tire?

Front right.

That bitez. At least it wasnt your rim

Is this tire still safe to use? Doesn't look too deep.

that looks kind of dangerous to ride on, especially with summer coming, dunno if the heat and thin sidewall might cause some bad mishaps......

If you want, I have a spare RS-A with little tread left if you need as a emergency spare..I live in Torrance

It doesn't look that bad but when driving it can get larger. Keep an eye on it to be safe or replace it now if it really worries you.

I was wondering how long ago you bought the tires and did you purchase the road hazard on them? If you got them from america's tire the warranty is like 20 bucks a tire and would replace the tire for free. Sidewall damage cannot be fixed though yours doesnt look too bad. Just keep an eye on it!
