Should I get a 2006 FX35 or 2008 BMW 535i?

Hi guys,

I currently own a 2007 Acura TL Type-S (27K miles) which I will be trading in for one of the following:

2006 FX35 AWD
33K Miles
$28K
Color: Autumn Copper w/ brown interior
Options Include: PREM PKG , NAVIGATION SYSTEM , AWD , TECH PKG , DVD ENT SYSTEM

OR

2008 BMW 535i
33K Miles
$30K
Color: Alpine White w/ beige interior
Options Include: Cold Weather Package, Navigation, Auto Tranny

I can't stand the Autumn Copper. For that reason ONLY I would probably opt for the BMW. If you like both colors, definitely go for the FX. You won't be disappointed.

P.S. Test drive test drive test drive.
 
The FX is probly gonna be more more cheaper and more reliable but I know a guy who has a 535 M sport and he says its a blast. Both cars are in diff worlds, it depends on your likes and conditions.
 
I think the FX might be a tad high, Id say go for bout 24-25.

Hows the cars condition? Try to see its KBB value.
 
Can someone tell me what the packages on the FX actually mean? (the non-self-explanatory ones). I checked Infiniti's website and they only have info on the new model now:

PREM PKG , NAVIGATION SYSTEM , AWD , TECH PKG , DVD ENT SYSTEM
 
Premium package is usually fully loaded, like heated seats, leather, sunroof etc.
Navi is Navi.
AWD is AWD.
Tech package I assume includes the DVD entertainment system.
 
The obvious answer to this question is... no.

Your TL is nice as it is and you are probably wasting money if you trade it in. I think the 06 FX35 is a tad bit high on the price. You should probably test drive the car to get a good feel for the car. It's a different car than your TL. You might not like the steering.
 
honesty since you have a 2007, i wouldnt go back and get a 2006 fx... its going to depreciate really quick plus if you want the latest style, the 06 is already a generation behind... But if you like the 06 for what it is, by all means go for it as its a great car

im leaning more towards the 5 series, or just keeping your 07 TL. But like what others already said, let the test drive persuade you :biggrin:

Get an FX but $26 is about $4k too high unless it has VERY low miles.

How long will you keep the FX for? BMWs start breaking around 50k miles and they are EXPENSIVE to fix. At the end of the day both are great, but much much different in function.

Just found out that the FX doesn't have the sport package. Is that something that can/should be added later?

sport package includes

- 20" rims (versus 18" rims non sport)
- clear tails (versus red tails)
- darker headlight houses
- darker grill
- aluminum roof rails
- sport "tuned" suspension (dont know how true this one is)

you can buy the parts individually if you have a non-sport and want sport or you can just wait til a deal with the sports package pops up
