Shop for powder coating

^ That place I heard is good, haven't tried but I'm going to take a peek at their shop and see how its done.

I've had things powder-coated at Quy's Coating.

Check their site, gives you a gallery of their work but its best you go there in person and see their color palette and some examples of their work. They do anything that can be powder-coated. They mask areas you don't want coated.

Quy the owner is a really nice guy, you can talk to him and he'll explain everything to you. They're accommodating with time as well, if you can't come in during business hours, he can schedule time outside like saturdays.

There's a video of him taking a sledge hammer to a powdercoated rim and the rim dents but the coat stays.

There's Fireball Coatings that a few people I know used, heard different things about them, but have not used them personally. They have different types of coatings like ceramic for high heat applications, etc.

There's also Rim King..which I've heard guys rave about but they don't powder coat, they paint but I believe they're a mobile operation and some aspects of the work is outsourced.

You can try metalcoaters, I know a guy that used them recently and there pricing is legit
I have used Fireball Coatings in the past and they do great work but are out in Erin which makes pick up and drop off a bit of a chore

I have had friends get their wheels powder coated here and they were very happy with the results. http://www.unionrim.com/
You could give them a call.

Blaine does lots of wheel refinnishing I might try him out when I get my wheels redone

I passed by Union Rim today out of curiosity and spoke with a gentleman. He said there's a 1 month wait time and explained the whole process to me. Apparently they send out rims to have the paint stripped then sandblast and powdercoat on-site. When he was showing me a sample rim, I noticed they use a pizza oven to bake the rims....exactly what carcone's uses...

I read reviews that Rim King does the same thing, they outsource the washing and stripping of rims which I believe is done at Carone's but I could be wrong...

Not sure I like the idea of my rims passing hands back and forth...

either case, I'm going to use Quy's, they run a big operation with huge ovens you can fit a car in..
