Shockwarehouse.com (KYB-Struts)

anybody install these yet?? I put new OEM struts on about 18 mos back...the Eibachs were too low and ruined the original ones. We've got H&R's on now and it's a choppy ride still (though much improved). I'd prefer a better matched strut and these KYB's are cheap.

From what I've seen and read, its either KyB or OEM. I have the Kybs with H&R springs with no issues. Sorry to hear about you not enjoying the ride.

just ordered the KYB's. I need to do brakes anyways so might as well do them while things are coming apart. we'll see how they do....I'm just spoiled by Ohlins on my car, the FX is the wife's

When are they due to arrive? Reason why I ask is these guys will not tell you until later that its on backorder. If you have not given them a call to confirm, I would do so. Good luck.

I just shot them an e-mail today asking for a possible ETA, whether it's been changed or not.

Any feedback from those who have had Eibachs and what it was like after putting in the KYB's? I was sold on the praise it was given, and I thought this would be like a blessing as far as ride comfort goes.

Everything is fine here with the kyb's and eibach's. The ride is much how should I say....grounded?? Its more of a thump now over speed bumps and pot holes instead of the old tunk. It also does not bottom out in the rear as easily as before. Very good investment IMO.

funny you should mention this - I fully expected them to be on backorder and for them to let me know that. What I didn't expect was how rude I'd be treated on the phone just now. I was told ''March 15th'' - I asked if this was a reasonable date and would it be pushed back month/month/month like others and the guy asked if I wanted the leave the order open. I said "yes, but I'd like it not to be open in perpetuity". He hung up on me right after I said ''yes''.

I called him right back and will be waiting for a call back at 10am from his boss. Just goes to show....cheap price = you get what you pay for. Tire Rack will have them in 2/20 and will cost me $50-75 more but there's 100% chance I won't be dealing with an asshole like Steve at Shockwarehouse.com

You guys can also check ///3299 and see if they can still give a discount. They were really friendly and helpful when I was requesting a coupon for our site before.

Thats funny, they don't see it from the consumers point of view, if their site plainly stated that they were on backorder then they would not have to go through this process with every customer cancelling an order. I mean why would I want $200+ of my dollars hung up in their system. It just makes no sense. Well Im glad you were able to clear that up.

I should say that I did get a call from Carlos, the guy's boss. We chatted about it and he did tell me that the fronts were in stock but the rear's were backordered (something not conveyed in the earlier call....not an unimportant bit of info). They are shipping the fronts to me now.

I also put in a separate order from Tire Rack for the rears. Alex told me he'd ping me about them when they arrived before shipping, to give him the go ahead. This way, I don't lose my 'spot' with the original order and might get everything in a week's time or so.

The shocks are out there, you just have to google and do some calling around, but if you are a patient person then all is good. I think their is a place at rockauto.com that might have the shocks. Somebody just ordered from them I think. Please chime in, can't remember who placed that recent order. Thanks

Hey there Toni. I picked up a full set a few weeks ago. It was out of stock when I checked but got the full set the second time around after Toni suggested Rockauto. Now the shocks are just sitting there waiting for the springs.

does anyone here have eibach's with KYB struts...
can you tell me how the ride feels, because i have eibach with oem struts and it's a lil' stiff, you know i have to do something because i have a baby on the way..
thanks..

aye i do... i wish i could help you but i went from oem springs and struts to eibach springs and kyb struts..so the difference from oem to aftermarket is amazing.. more stiff, sportier.. def not soft like oem. i know that H&R and KYB make a softer ride than eibach+KYB...

I recently changed my 2004 OEM struts to these KYB struts. I can really feel a big difference. The ride are very smooth and handling over the bumps are much better. The only thing I am worry now is how long will these kyb's last with my H&R springs.
