Shifting/Top speed

Hey guys, When on the freeway or a straightaway, is it okay to keep the gas pedal on full throttle while shifting up? Or do I have to let go of the gas pedal?

Also, on Drive Sport mode does the shifting point on RPM stay higher than if I were to redline using tiptronic? I beat a 350z, GS350, and an S550 all on the freeway but I'm trying to figure out how to squeeze every bit of power cuz I feel my top end power weakening once I hit 4th/5th gear

Last question, what's the fastest you guys have gone without tuning? My friend said he saw my speedometer at 160 while I was racing but I saw 145 as the highest

The site does not condone street racing. Take it to the track or to the strip, it's safer.

Im also against those reckless speeds on the roads so I just want you and others to stay safe so please take it easy. And to answer your question no you do not have to let off the throttle when shifting up or down. Its an automatic. Plus you can not redline for longer than about a second because it will shift up by itself in manual mode and it doesnt bounce off the limiter unless its tuned because it will just cut fuel.

#1 stop racing on the street, especially in an SUV that will flip over and likely kill someone when you make mistakes at such high speeds.

to answer:

You keep your foot down. FYI the car is faster shifting by itself vs. using the paddle shifters. (I have track time slips to show it)

a 350z and an S550 really should not have lost to you... Some 350z keep up with FX50 with no issues on the highway, and if it was a 2015+ S550 it is unlikely they would lose to an FX even from a dig as their 0-60 and 1/4 mile are both faster than the FX... and it's a beast on the highway.

Your power is weakening because the FX35 isn't tuned or made for top speed runs on the highway. Most of its power band is for 'normal' driving - so this is why it will drop off at higher speeds. Plus, as you get faster the bigger size of the car and the weight eat at the car's ability to push forward.

The car is electronically limited to 145 MPH iirc. so that's as fast as you'll go, if that.
