I installed my shark fin antenna last week and did not notice any difference in sat/fm/am signal strength. It sounds just like the old whip antenna.

The base looks quite thick compare to the ones on the website:

Is it because the OEM base for the FX thicker?

Nice, looks very clean. Also like the tinted tails and windows, however I'm not feeling the chrome pillars. But if you like then awesome.

Looks good man. Love those tails! I'm just not feeling those chome pillars you put on. Looks too Autozone/PepBoy's like. I wouldn't put those on a $50K car. But if you like it that's all that matters:tup:

Well since i find no answers, one thing left to do. Gona fabricate it to fit the 1st gens. ;-)

I have an 05' fx 35...my antenna is in the front of the car not the rear..can i move it to the back or is that an extensive mod ?

Sure, anything is possible with $$. You will have a hole in the roof of the 1gen if you move the antenna. Some have even completely removed the antenna without much or any signal loss.

The 2nd Gen FX nav base has to be covered by the VisualGarage antenna, thats why its thicker. The ones from the website probably dont cover a base as big as the FX.

Are the 09+ versions from VG the same price as the online model ($69)?
