hi,

I have problem... I installed LMS CAI (with KN filter) in my 2005 Fx35, and I did ecu reset. Then I started the engine and everything was OK. But after few hours I tried to start the engine again, but the engine only reach about 1000RPM and turned off. After that I tried again, engine started normally but the "service engine soon" lights came on... Do you have any ideas what can be wrong? Maybe a problem is with a MAF position, which in LMS CAI is in a bit different place than in stock intake. I have used previously JWT + UTR tube and didn't have any problems.

thanks

It's probably the little vacuum tube. It happened to me when I accidentally forgot to put reconnect the tube. I've also started the car up without the MAF sensor (stupid me), but I don't remember the car dying. The RPM just went up and down...

I've checked MAF and cable twice and everything looks good. If the position of the MAF is wrong, that meens that LMS CAI is just poorly designed... But I know that many people are using lms cai without any problems... So maybe the problem is with a small tube which is connected to the intake (sorry, but I don't know english name of that tube). In stock intake it is connected form the top, in lms cai from the bottom but it doesn't fit very well. So perhaps this is causing problems...

by the way how can I check the error code?

You can position the MAF sensor the wrong way when you put it back in. Are you sure you placed it facing the correct direction. The opening on the MAF sensor should face the cone filter.

By any chance, did you hit the throttlebody when you were installing the tube.

Honestly, I think the check engine light will go away with another ECU reset. Try disconnecting the battery for couple of hours and see if the light comes back on.

i'm 100% sure that MAF is installed correctly. I reset ECU again and now everythig works ok. I will check tomorow mornig when the engine is cold, very cold (there is only 10°F in Poland).
