Service Engine Soon light

He gents,

I had a look in the search here about the service engine soon light but i can't find my question in there.
When i switch the contact on it comes up but as soon as the engine is running it goes off.
I checked the OBD already few times with Nissan Datascan II and there are no fault codes.
Now i am thinking, is there something wrong or is it normal that it comes on at startup and after goes off??

While were at this topic anyway, anybody knows what programs there are more for Nissan/Infiniti OBD?
The cable/software pack i bought says that the interface ONLY works with Nissan/Infiniti.
Tried PCMScan (Palmer Performance) and Proscan 5.0 but both will not connect.

Maybe something more to find in the US because here in Europe we are quite limited on Infiniti goodies.

ignition on, service engine light, brake light on (if active), seat belt light, on. this is normal. upon start up the lights should go away in 3 seconds or you have a problem.

Ahh, ok this clears that up.
I was already a bit worried that there is something but this is not coming up as a fault code and something is f*ucking up and i can't see this.
Anyone has some experience with software to use with Infiniti?

The consult III would be the software of choice to use with all nissan and inifiniti's (all techs use this tool at the dealer) to troubleshoot but they are 4-5K way too expensive for the avg enthusiast.

that's a bit over the top indeed.
One way this Nissan Datascan has also good tools but as i am used to work quite a lot with VAG-COM for my Golf VR6 that is much better.
You are able to connect to each controller seperatly and do function tests with for example engine, abs pump, aut. tranny, etc.

Anyway i have an option to do some tech stuff with this software and interface.
At least the important things.
