RWD or AWD

So besides the obvious "look under the vehicle" is there a way to visually identify the 2wd fx vs the awd fx?

I'm looking for an fx35 and would love to be able to spot the difference, so I know if the vehicle I'm looking at is a 2wd or an awd.

Thanks!

^ He's talkin about the VIN # btw (nice search of my post, tee hee!)

And another way to spot is the button next to the steering wheel that says AWD Lock (in some years) or Snow Mode.

Do the RWD versions have Snow Mode in later years with reduced throttle sensitivity?

I actualy met someone who bought a used FX and was told it was AWD the salesman showed them the SNOW button and they never doubted it beacause of the snow button, Until they were driving in snow conditions, they were pissed and the used car dealership (not infiniti dealer) wouldn't do anything for them because the 30 day's had gone by. They had to sell it and get an AWD.

Quick story : I was working finance at a lexus dealer a few years back and a very tenatious young couple was trying to buy an rx. After days of back and forth with the sales manager they finally struck a deal. As I was doing the paperwork I couldn't help but notice how low the final price was. I later questioned the sales manager and he answered (with a straight face) "It was a great deal as long as they never drive it in the snow"! I quit two weeks later.

Turn the ignition key to acc, shift the FX to park and on the speedometer cluster it will or it will not show a AWD light.

This person have all the rights to file a lawsuit.. False advertisement and missleading the customer to buy something he/she didn't want under the impression that they were getting what they wanted because the dealer told them to..

Didnt they drive the thing? Jeez, the first drive I wouldve got the thing loose.
Possible that even the salesman was not aware? That snow button is decieving . . a bit.
How often do the salesman at the dealers know anything about the cars? We've all experienced that.

Still though, he shouldnt have stated it was 4WD

It was an older trusting couple who had no reason to think it was not AWD

damn...some sales people don't really know much about the cars they are selling, i had to point out a few things to some sales people when i was searching for the right fx like one guy didn't even know it had a 3.5l engine and the size of the rims :err:
