Rotors - Drilled rotor brands?

Are you going drilled strictly for looks or are you expecting better performance as well. I can tell you that I did not notice any increased performance whatsoever if my drilled/slotted.

R1 Concepts uses Centric rotors. They just put their name on the box and charge you a little bit more. Centric rotors are very good, but dont pay R1 more for centric rotors because they renamed them. The exact xdrilled rotors your looking at are actually:

Centric Sportstop Xdrilled Rotors # 128.42092L and 128.42092R Fronts
Centric Sportstop Xdrilled Rotors # 128.42078L and 128.42078R Rears

You can find them at RockAuto for a little bit less. I didn't see the fronts when I looked for you but the rears are $77.79 ea - $155.58 pr. Call them for the fronts, I'm sure they can get them for you.

I don't believe those are the same thing. The premium eline R1 rotors are actually composed of more metal mainly in the webbing of the rotor. Plus there are more drilled holes in the rotor. R1 sells a cheaper version similar to those.

im working on a deal with r1 concept for whole car disc and pad package. trying to see if he will give us a group buy discount maybe? lmk if interested

If you really want to believe they are different, go ahead. But I have way too much information to say otherwise.

R1 Eline = Centric Ctek
R1 Premium = Centric Premium

Discussed here in length with Tchuck: https://www.infinitiscene.com/searc...-Posi-Quiet-Ceramic-brakes?highlight=concepts

I have gone over this many times before. I have ordered the Eline rotors directly from R1. What I actually recieved was a Centric Ctek rotor part #121.42080 (04 FX35) ENGRAVED in the rotor.

does this look familiar:

The spec Image on R1 website is a direct copy from Centrics website, and even the descriptions are exactly the same

R1 is soo lazy they don't even change the description. I'm not trying to put down R1. But it is what it is, they sell Centric Rotors renamed under their name. Tchuck has the pictures to prove that he bought R1 Eline and Premium rotors. He recieved the boxes with Centric part #'s. Centric also owns Powerslot, Stop Tech, Posi Quiet, and C-Tek.

To top this off, R1 is located in La Habra California. Centric is located in City of Industry California, approx only 8 miles from each other. R1 orders orders their rotors from Centric. No other discussion necessary.

I don't mean to jack this thread. I have been following this thread closely since I just ordered a combo of FRT + RR StopTech sports drilled and slotted rotors, set of 4 SS brake lines and complete set of pads. My rotors are squeeling like a goat for the longest time and my rear pads are almost shot so I decided to do the replacements simultaneously. BBK is desirable but the wifey protested. Anyhow, I got this deal as seen below. Do you think I got a reasonable deal?

I would say if you dont want to break the bank ebay has very good prices on the drilled/slotted rotors front and rear with pads and reguardless of price they all do the same job wich is to stop. So just because something cost more doesn't mean that its any better. Just my opinion.

I think he got that quote from Autoanything.com with redeem code Welcome15. It comes out exactly to his $638.31. Looking at the description, I don't see any fluid being provided in that kit. I could be wrong, but I don't see it in the description.

Weird. I bought that same stuff (excluding rotors) in a kit from Stillen last year and it came with fluid. Looking at Stillen's site a few mins ago though, it appears they no longer carry it.

You should make a thread for this Centric rotor business. It might save you some typing time in the future. ;)

Thank you gentlemen. Yeah, the quote was from AutoAnything. It could have been on the 500+ range after discount but I asked for an upgraded slotted and drilled rotors. I already made the order. Just wanted to get it done with one vendor and be done with it. @ toy4x - That was some great researching though. I should have consulted my friend google further :wink (2):

Thanks, not really busy right now. When my baby is asleep, I have nothing better to do but be here on IS. I just happened to remember the autoanything website and saw the 15% off first order.

Yeah I really should make a thread on this. I have to open a lot of windows re-gathering my "evidence" all the time. But, at least I have you to back me up! If my daughters go to sleep early tonight I'll make a very nice thread on R1 vs Centric.

Im still using my original set of rotorpros - and its time to change em out...I called Rich up and got a quote of $280. Im under the assumption he used Centric rotors - so why is there such a huge price increase with these other rebranded rotors?
