Rotorpros .. Which way is the right way???

I finally got my rotors from Rich @ rotorpro installed last night (I've had it about a week now) and I was wondering which way is the slotted part facing? It's kinda hard to explain, the slots of the rotors are supposed to going with the motion of the wheels \ or away from it /. See the pics to know exactly what I mean.

My rears are set up like Massive, and my fronts are like Deecarp's. Did my guy screw it up? Should I be worried about the rotors getting messed up if they ARE facing the wrong way?
 
second link doesn't work, but from what i gather it sounds like those are correct and dee's are incorrect. if the car goes -> and the wheels spin clockwise, then the brakes should be like \ because i would assume that the inner part of the slot should hit the pad first, so as to move the gases up and away from the center of the rotor. that is what makes sense to me, but is there really a wrong way?

I honestly don't think it matters with the rotorpros, if I remember correctly the vanes are not directional.... and the rotors are just drilled and slotted oem quality rotors.
 
yeah, that way looks correct to me too, BUT when I did my rotoras I wasn't sure so I checked the rotor part #'s with rotora to determine the correct way according to them as to which was left & which was right & it's opposite that^^^? logic I guessed was that the viens would sweep across the pads more at a 90deg angle maybe cleaning them better?

honestly, I don't think it makes all that much difference, but I def would at least want them all facing the same way... at least if there all right or all wrong, gotta still look better if there at least all the same... I've seen guys argue either way as correct but rotora has them spec'd at /// with > being forward instead of \\\ like above according to the part #'s & what they told me...
 
Internal vanes are non-directional so direction doesn't matter.

Here is a pic I took, you can see they are non directional.

If I do have them facing the wrong way they have been that way on my car for over 2 years.

yeah, didn't even think of the internal vanes & airflow, but like Jeff said, with straight vanes it really doesn't make much difference
 
so basically .... if rotors are oem style. do what you like, user preference. no right or wrong way. this changes if the rotors have viens that are curved.

In some of the pics you can see the Black hubs - and the SS lines. I havent had a chance to drive it around too much since LMS is only 10 mins from my house, but I'll give a review after the weekend.

Which direction should the discs rotate?

It is a popular misconception that the slots or drillings in a disc determine the direction of rotation. In truth, for an internally vented disc, the geometry of the vanes dictates the direction of rotation. There are three vane types in use:
  • Straight
  • Pillar vane (comprised of many small posts)
  • Curved vane
The first two vane types are non-directional, and can be used on either side of the vehicle. The curved vane disc, however, is directional. A curved vane disc must be installed with the vanes running back from the inside to outside diameters in the direction of rotation. Please see figure. Orienting the disc in the manner creates a centrifugal pump. The rotation of the disc causes air to be pumped from the center of the disc, through the vanes, and out through the outside diameter of the disc. This greatly enhances the disc's ability to dissipate heat.
Additionally, all of Brembo's slotted discs are directional as well, regardless of the vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first. Please see figure.

not at all, jack up one end front or rear & swap the rotors left to right, done. if you did a lot of miles like 3k or moe on them, then prolly a good idea to swap the pads side to side as well which should eliminate all concerns as far as bedding & surface matching... guess I would follow the rotors with the pads anyway, so swap rotors & pads togeather side to side... if you want to swing by sat & jack it up I'll give you a hand...
 
Hey fellas I thoughtmine were wrong but when they came to the house, theboxes indicated which was which. I called rich to be sure after talking to berto of which way these rotors should face. Rich said follow the instruction of the boxes each was in. That is how they were installed. I've had no issues and it been over a year now
