Oh wow, if it was intentional that sucks that they have no respect.

I really don't know myself, maybe we need a PS class lol.

What I did finally was to resize it to one dimension (500) then crop it to the actual 500x325.

I know there are better ways but this work for me.

What I do is open a new file and type in 500 x 325.

Then I drag and drop my picture into the new file, crop, resize, touch-up, and done.

If your using PS, when resizing uncheck the "Constrain Proportions" box and then you can specify the exact height and width yourself.

won't that warp the picture though? i thought leaving that checked meant that when you set it to 500 by xxx that it will turn the xxx into numbers that match up with the original sized picture. i usually just crop it as close as i can to right size and shrink it to fit the size.

No, if you uncheck that box then you can set the size to your exact desired scale.

Usually if you uncheck that box and type in 500x325 it will compress the vertical pixels giving your picture a flatter look.

I dunno and I am no expert and PS but I found that this works for me anyways. Its much easier then any of the other ways I have noticed. But I do shoot most all my pictures in wide aspect.
