Rock chip on headlight

So my baby fx is in love with rock chips... She just can't get enough....
The latest one is a IMO fairly deep nick right on the headlight. Is our headlights made of glass? Is a 2mm chip that I can feel with my fingernails fixable?

Their made of a really really hard plastic. It's the same material used to make batting helmet's. It doesn't really matter if their made out of glass either cause glass can still get rock chips. A perfect example is your windshield.

I forgot to add that I really don't think your able to fix it. You should of had 3M clear bra installed over it to protect it. That's what I did and it's rockchip free!

Yea I so regret cheaping out and not getting the bras right from the get go. But too late now :( already got so many rock chips on the hood and now the headlight too :(

I guess I have to live with it for a few years until the euro spec headlights are at an affordable price

Or you could trade your 35 in for a 50s ..... they'll b cheaper in a few years. I've got the same on my fx. Not looking forward to winter because a lot of the state highway trucks throw huge chunks of sand and salt and it doesn't help the paint at all. Best advice is to keep the most distance you can behind any vehicle.

I do I keep at least 4-5 car length of distance behind possible rock debris carriers..... Still get rock chip. I do drive highway almost daily. So I guess battle scars are inevitable. Once i got the first one the rest is like Meh now. Now going to trade it in for anything anytime soon. I got the 35 because i like to mod things to make it my own. With the way the 45 were I doubt the 50 is going to get much love from the aftermarket.

How much would clear bra for just headlights cost? I can kind of fix chips on the paint myself to make it not so noticeable but I guess can't do te same to headlights

Just for the headlights alone is like $100+. Not too sure though since I got a package deal. I had all my interior step plates and door jambs lined with 3M Venture shield clear bra cause I hate when people step up on the kick plates to try and scratch them.

Hit up any reputable clear bra installer. I'm pretty sure they could work out a good deal with you.

you know how headlight cover turns to haze over time when we sand it and buff it to perfection again, Could you not try to do the same thing? it might not work 100% but should make the damage less noticeable.
