Took our firts 'long' raod trip this week from Kansas to South Dakota & back. The trip computer reads as follows: 1667 miles, 28.5 hrs. averaged 58.4 MPH. Checked the last tank & got 17.54 MPG. (still need to add up total gas costs).. I learned 2 things on our trip.
1. The FX was made for trips like this, I love our FX more now than ever. Was a pleasure to drive every mile.
2. The digital cruise is very accurate, on some lonely hiway (hiway 83), Nebraska state trooper clocked me at 81 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, exactly what the cruise was set at. (crap). He was very nice & wrote the ticket for only 80 MPH & saved me $50.00 on the fine for knocking off the extra 1 MPH.
If youv'e never been, you gotta go, Mt Rushmore was neat, but the Badlands was killer
Mt. Rushmore

The 'BadLands' this place was awsome..
