Rims: MADE THE WORST MISTAKE EVER.

I am having a really bad month with my fx45, I made the worst mistake in the world. I let my girlfriend drive my FX and she ruined my front passenger rim trying to park it close to the curb. So pissed.:embarrassed:

My girlfriend did the same exact thing last summer, when my brand new $3K 22" CEC wheels were only about 2 months old...I was livid!! Still haven't fixed it...but I got an estimate and it will be about $100 to sand out and polish the curb rash. Try looking up a rim repair around you...shouldn't be too bad

Take a deep breath. I know it sucks, but other people have made much worse mistakes.

The best thing to do is to get it repaired at a place with a good reputation. I bent a rim on my BMW a long time ago and it was around $100 to repair.

Get a new girlfriend....j/k

I spent $400 to have all 4 wheels redone and repainted. So its not really that bad, it can be fixed....relax, I'm sure she feels bad about messing up your wheel. Now she really owes you a few...

Some say to hug the curb to avoid the side swipe, others say keep it at 18 inches. This guy's got the right idea - out of the street, rim is safe, and that pesky sprinkler run-off stays off the bottom of the tire too!

Make sure she atleast gives you something for screwing up your rim. And by the way I'm not talking about giving money. Make her pay another way!!!!!!!! Give her some of her own curb rash :-) LOL!!!!

Mistakes and accidents happen, just be supportive, get the wheel fixed, then never let her drive the FX again! :ninja:

Don't feel too bad about it, Rally. My girlfriend broke up with me recently because I bought new wheels. True story. She hates my FX with a passion. So at least you still have a girlfriend, lol. :alien:

Accident happens, good thing its only your rims not her! You can always buy a set of rims but can't bring back life! Look at it this way, you'll get lucky as twice now that you forgiven her!:smile (2):

A very classy reply. I have something that runs along the same line "material things can always be replaced, treasure what matters most". The line I throw in when I mess something my wife truly values
