Rev matching on downshift

Is there anyway that I can make my 05 FX to sound like it has rev-matching haha
Will Transgo Shift Kit make any difference to be more sound like rev-matching engine when downshifting? What mods can be done to make my FX more sound like having a rev-matching engine noise when downshifting?
Maybe it's just better to get 06 & up FX lol

Rev matching is done in the ecu, and basically provides a small throttle blip during downshifts while the "clutch" is engaged. Beyond a standalone ecu or maybe a piggyback ecu there is nothing that can be done to make it sound like that. I don't think its humanly possible to pull off a "manumatic -> N+rev -> D -> manumatic+downshift" sequence quick enough to sound authentic, and even if you could the luxury delay on the manual shifting would catch you before the downshift anyway.

Short answer - "Without actually having rev-matching, no."

Meh videos came out pretty bad. It's really hard to drive, film, and shift all at once. I'll have to get someone else to film while I do it. Although it's kinda hard at all to be honest, not very noticeable.

Thank you for trying Stu!
But if you can get someone else who can film for you while you drive it please upload the video sooner or later :)
Thank you ! :smile (2):

Does anyone else have video on this or willing to take one for me? lol
That would be really nice! :smile (2):

Love the rev matching. From 3rd to 2nd the flowmaster makes a nice POP noise like backfire. vroom baby vroom

Oh Pat stop making me jealous lol
Perhaps you can make a video of that for me :)

What are the benefits of having a Rev-Matching Engine and disadvantages compare to non Rev-Matching engines such as 03-05 models? Any performance differences?

Engine is exactly the same. It just makes the downshifts engage smoother because it matches the rev's to the wheel speed for a given gear.

When I down shift rev match I blip the throttle when shifting down a gear so I can match the RPM going into the gear. When I had my test pipes on it would sound so nice especially all that popping noise.

You don't do true rev matching with an automatic. You can hit the throttle and pretend you are doing something, but it's not really since you don't control the when the gears mesh.
