Returning to an FX... What to look for and what's due?

Hi all,

Long time lurker, new poster. I had a loaded 2006 FX35 years ago, and am back in the market for another. I am looking at a 2006 FX45 this time, and have done as much research as I can. I am going to get a PPI done, and I am wondering if there is anything in particular the shop should look for. I know what to look for in any used car, but I am wondering if there is something particular I should keep in mind for these (e.g., I read the VK has a tendency to burn oil - would a leak down or compression test be a wise idea?).

The vehicle also has about 85K on it. I figure it's time to refresh some systems. Coming from the BMW world, a lot needs to be done in the 80-100K range to keep things running as they should: suspension (shocks would be overdue, but also all rubber bushings, mounts, etc.), water pump (and any cooling component with plastic), etc. Is that that the case for these as well? Other than standard consumables (... and wheel bearings), what should be refreshed around 100K? I will of course replace all fluids and filters immediately to start with a clean slate, but I like tackling things at once "while I'm in there."

Finally - the blistering dashboard. This car never had its dash replaced, and it still looks fine. That said, as an 06 the extended warranty is expired. Is this not a matter of if, but when it will bubble? What are people paying these days to have it replaced?

Very anxious to get back into these. Of all the options out there these days, this still is still the best combination of technology, style, practicality, fun, and value. Thanks!
