Hey guys I just got my 2010 FX35 and I am so thrilled!!! Its the best thing ever, lol. Black on wheat with Nav, deluxe, and premium packages.
Ok here is my question. The dealership tried to sell me all these warranty add ons and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these. These are the only two I would consider.
Premier tire and wheel protection for 5yrs $800
*Damage caused by road hazards like glass, metal, potholes, debris, blowout etc
*Covers replacement tires (I think this is only if they pop or something)
*No limits on occurrences or claim benefits or mileage
*Covers all cost including labor, taxes, mounting, and towing
*Transferable
*Covers cosmetic damage
I was thinking about this one because my rims got really beat up on my 2003 G35 coupe I had. I had to replace one rim once because it got bent or something and I once spent $500 to have them refinished. So if that happens and they fix it for free I've already made money.
Other one I was thinking about was ResistAll protective coating
It "seals and protects" paint, fabric, and leather
*7 yrs $750 for basic, not sure how much the premium is that I'd be getting, I'd also be getting 5 yrs instead of 7
*They fix any exterior paint problems including bird droppings, tree sap, tar, acid rain, insects, fading, "loss of gloss," and some other stuff
*Replace any interior they can't repair including stains from food/drink, oil, fading, cracking, ink, urine, vomit, blood, pet stains, "damage as a result of of loss of suppleness or strength," punctures less than 1/4", Tears less than 1,"
Sounds like a good deal but I feel like its got to be a rip off some how. Plus I'm worried about the "sealant" they put on the leather like it might make it gross. Plus I live on a farm for 4 months out of the year and I have a lab that travels with me a lot, so I'm worried about my wheat interior. I've had my car for a day and the exterior is a mess already from my farm ha. Once I get back to Nashville I wont be so worried. I also understand that its over priced and they are making money, but if it helps it might still be worth it. So does anyone have experience with it?
