Reset your computer after CAI install!!

Location
San Diego
so i put in the fujita cold air intake, and noticed my gas mileage was down around 12-15 in the city. i waited a whole tank of gas, because i read it has to "remap" the fuel/air mixture. i also read that there is no need to do a ecu reset. however, after a tank of gas i decided to go ahead and reset it. within 20 miles of driving, my mileage was up to about 17-19 in the city and 22-24 on the highway. It does make a difference so I recommend it!

Noob question. If I reset my ecu is that going to remove the xm function on the radio? Also is it essential to reset the ecu after a cai install? Will it not just learn and adjust on the go?

It shouldn't remove your XM in general, but if you choose to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU, it will affect your radio presets. Just do the pedal dance method, and it won't matter either way.

Thanks for the heads up Stulax! I guess resetting the ECU is the way to go then. I'm sorry but I don't know what you meant by the pedal dance method?
