Replacement Pads Advice?

I have put about 25k miles on my FX since I owned it and its time to replace the brake pads (all 4 wheels) and get the rotors turned. Currently my FX35 AWD has the stock pads on it (I think). It rains and snows in Chicago so need something that stops well. I am looking forward to changing out the brake fluid to something synthetic and getting some pedal back.

With 75k miles would you get an aftermarket pad or stay with the stock pads? I have heard the brakes wear out pretty quickly anyway to fast wearing really isn't an issue.

I don't have alot of money to put into brakes but want a quality product. I wish I could look at a big brake kit, only if Santa brought it would I even come close to affording it. :(

Should I:
1) Just put stock pads on again?
2) Get aftermarket pads (which do you recommend)?

Thanks for your suggestion.

I like OEM as it has little to no brake dust, quite and stops fine enough. But I upgraded to stoptech rotors from oem and the combination works pretty well.

I using Posi pads. They are pretty much feel like OEM pads and very little dust. I also installed some cross drilled/slotted rotors. Their is a good DIY on this site. Good luck with your search.

Need some serious Brake Advice!!!!

Jay619,

Hey I'm Chicago as well...same exact ride (2005 FX35 AWD) I just bought Duralast Rotors from Autozone and Duralast C-Max Pads...have no clue what I am in for...but I will see. I am very hesitant...b/c I heard various reviews from good to bad, so I'm not quiter sure what to expect. Not sure if I should just hold off before I install them, and just return them...Please someone give me advice!!!!
