Hello again wise people of IS
I continue my battle with a misfire in cylinder 1. Everything else is fixed and working great. I am now in need of a set of catalytic converters. I figured I'd post here and see if anyone had some good stockers laying around. I'd be looking for thoughts on any of the following:
1. if you have some factory take offs that you KNOW are good, i'd be interested
2. if you know of some aftermarket hi-flo cats that are CARB legal, i'd be interested
3. if you know of the best place to get stock replacements that are CARB legal, i'd be interested.
4. if you have any easy way to test cats in a junk yard, i'd be interested
While my pea brain struggles to comprehend how a bad cat could cause a misfire on only one cylinder, I have run out of other options. If I can upgrade to a nice hi-flo cat and solve the problem, great. I'l be adding the plenum spacer once this is all fixed since I have one sitting in the garage. More power isn't the goal right now, but I won't shake a stick at it.
Many thanks to those that are able to help. I'll need some answers quickly as I have to try to get parts and get this car fixed before I get so frustrated I drive it in to the Pacific ocean.
