Things just get worse. So Sat. I took my car into Miller Infiniti to get my oil changed, rotate my tires, check my squeaking brakes, and tell them my dash bubbled/melted up near the window. Oil change taken care of and they say they cleaned my brakes, but I would have to come back and leave the car for the dash. So the next day I notice some black spots on my rims that won't come off (like spray paint), but obviously I can't take it in because it's Sun. Yesterday, I dropped my car off and tell them about the black spots. A gentlemen who wasn't there on Sat. says they couldn't have caused the problem because they pressure washed cleaned the brakes and didn't use any chemicals. Anyways, I'm not trying to argue because they still have to replace my dash so I say do what you can to remove the black spots on my rims if possible.

I go pick up my car today and he says the dash looks great, but we couldn't remove the spots. You'll have to take them to a wheel repair shop. Fine. So I go to my car, holy cow my car is dirty. They didn't bother to clean the windshield or rear view mirror with the all smudge, my passenger side floor is dirty as hell with either dirt or grease. I start the car and now there's a Service Engine Soon light on (doesn't blink just stays on). It sure wasn't there before. I also noticed my radio station were reset (guessing they unplugged the battery).

Could someone tell me what the problem could be? I really don't want to take it back. There has been nothing but trouble with Miller Infiniti. I mean if I take it back, I'm guessing they are going to try and sell me something (service/repair) or I'm gonna piss them off and they'll do something to make a repair. Thoughts?

Take it back and get them to fix everything.. After any service, they should always wash and vacuum your car.. Also, during the intake procedure they go over your car to note mileage, condition, any SES lights etc.. so if that light was there before they would have made you aware of it.. Take it back and get it fixed, if they give you crap about it then call infiniti corp and complain about the service at miller..

Went outside to check and see if the notice went away, but it's still there. So i check other things in my car. The heated seats buttons don't light up and they don't work. SMH.

They probably forgot to connect a wiring harness after replacing the dash. Take it back and make sure everything is in order before you leave the dealer.

With it being hot in LA right now, I didn't bother checking the heated seats. Which dealership do you usually take your car to? I'll admit I'm a little afraid of taking it back, with the thought that they are going to do something to it for all the hassle. Just so they can get their money back for the labor and time.

Do you have an idea what could have possible triggered that SES light doing a dash replacement?

Take it back, No excuses for a SES lights to come on.

They obviously forgot to connect a harness. Check engine light can be caused by soo many things, especially taking apart and replacing the dash. They could have forgot to put on a ground for the ecu, there is also a computer behind the clock, obviously your heated seats harnesses are unplugged. Too many variables.

If I take my FX to a dealer its usually to Parkway Infiniti in Valencia.

The main service rep (has been there the longest) is Gerald, but Kirk, who helped me the last time I was there, is great too. He actually is a member here on the board and has an FX himself, but hasn't been very active recently. Never had any problems and they usually always get me a loaner eventhough I am out of warranty. I have been happy with their service.

UPDATE: The assistant service manager apologized and said he would talk to the shop forman on why my car wasn’t cleaned afterwards and about the other issues. He stated the SES light was on because the tech accidentally turned on the ignition with the instrument cluster disconnected. They forgot to reset the code. The heated seats were not working because the harness was not fully snapped on. They fixed all problems and for the trouble and not cleaning my car they detailed the inside and outside of my car. Mats were still a little damp when I arrived, but they gave me the heads up and carpet was shampooed as well. However, I do not know if I will take my car back there again.
