replace my engine, advice please

Little bump here. How did the replacement wrap up for you?

Pretty lucky, no issue with new engine and running smother then the old one before .
take 3-4 crank to get it started, probably because fuel pressure has to build up, save a lot of labor
if I were to pay shop for labor, now I'm not afraid to get under the engine any more.

Great to hear. I in the middle of a rebuild on my wifes sc2. Second major engine work for me. Replaced my stratus engine several years ago. It is a very good feeling to do it and then hear that puppy turn over for the first time. Congrats to you for taking on the task and succeeding.

Mine is also dead after 170k miles. I don't know nothing about engines...so just one question. Is it possible to put in engine from fx50 (vk 50ve) instead of original vk45.

I think that would be a lot more work since most of the wiring would have to be redone. Transmissions are different as well and many of the supporting parts.
