replace HID bulbs

i need to replace the HID headlight bulbs of the drivers side on my '03 FX45. would i be able to do it without taking out the intake/air filter component?

if i were you i will take off the wheel and take out the lower plastic arch under the wheel, and work from there, you be more comfortable and make no error. If you have big hands especially you will have hard time working from the engine area.
 
@myl168 - thanks. i'm hoping to not to have to remove anything. the passenger side looks much easier than the driver's side, but i'll do both so they match.

also, do i need to disconnect the battery when i do this? sorry, newbie....
 
So tonight When I was driving home I noticed my passenger HID bulb was kind of dim. When I got out I looked at the lights and noticed that the drivers side HID bulb was emitting a purple color. I guess the HID bulbs are going to have to be replaced.
 
Just purchased some for $40 now I just need to find some fog light HID kit that will match the headlights. Don't really know which would match
