replace HID bulbs

i need to replace the HID headlight bulbs of the drivers side on my '03 FX45. would i be able to do it without taking out the intake/air filter component?

Only thing is that zcspec doesn't fully answer your question. He just says it's easy either way.

i recommend replacing both bulbs so the colors will match. I've replaced mine without removing the air filter.

if i were you i will take off the wheel and take out the lower plastic arch under the wheel, and work from there, you be more comfortable and make no error. If you have big hands especially you will have hard time working from the engine area.

@myl168 - thanks. i'm hoping to not to have to remove anything. the passenger side looks much easier than the driver's side, but i'll do both so they match.

So tonight When I was driving home I noticed my passenger HID bulb was kind of dim. When I got out I looked at the lights and noticed that the drivers side HID bulb was emitting a purple color. I guess the HID bulbs are going to have to be replaced.

Allot of members have and use morimoto's D2S bulbs. I have them and they work great. They give out a hint of blue in the 6000k temp.

Yeah the HID bulbs I purchased are morimoto HID bulbs now just need matching HID fog lights.

It's DIY. I did it myself no problem 3 weeks ago.

just need to hook the latch which holds the bulb in place properly, so be mindful of how you release the latch and reassemble all in reverse order.
