Replace Factory Seat w/Momo Seat?

Well when I bought my FX45 (after the fact) I noticed a little wear to my drivers seat. Anyone ever have any experience replacing them? I figured it would be big bucks or a pain in the a$$ to find a replacement, so I was thinking about putting one of these in? Any comments suggestions, haven't seen one of these in a SUV but I've seen plenty in tuners...

cool or stupid?

One of what? Can't see anything.. I don't think a momo seat would look set a nice vibe with the FX..

gonna make it look like a stolen recovery or something, don't do it!!!

I feel your pain though, my fronts seats are less than perfect too & finding a solution is def a problem, but, this is NOT it

A top notch detailer may be able to refinish the worn leather. You would be suprised at how good a repair you can get for very little $$$. Go over to autopia's detail forum and search leather repair.

Depends if you track your FX or not. The stock seats severely lack lateral support. Now that I have had chance to drive the FX harder on the streets it's a lot more noticeable. So I can't imagine how bad it would be on the track. I know that there are a few people on the ORG that track their FXs regularly and I'm surprised that I haven't seen a thread about a seat swap yet.

1. A seat swap is one of the best things you can do to drop weight. Lots of it.
2. Get a pair. Just a personal gripe though.
3. Take a look at the Sparco Evo. They weigh <20lbs and the fit and support is excellent. I was going to put them in my CS but ended up with the GT3 seats.
4. Interesting to see people slam a seat swap YET hail 22" wheels?? But then again I'm from the go>show school of thought.
5. With that said though, I personally wouldn't do it if it wasn't to be used as a track car.

naw bro no racing seats for the fx
its not like the fx is like a crx or civic
switchin it out would look HORRIBLE
it would look classy outside then when someone looks inside there would be like WTF

i would say a recaro racing seat has more of a home in an FX than a f'ing crx or civic

Very nice.
Dopeman, Check out my setup. Superlightweight, Safe & the kids love'em. It's for bigger tikes though.

If you say so . . look underneath . . "Recaro used under license by Graco" haha, & I'll put money on it . . oh, and BTW, Infiniti is a Nissan

I've tried Recaro conversion seat and I wasn't too impressed considering the cost ($300+). It was the first set of seats I had before my wife was involved in a small fender bender. Rear-facing is virtually impossible/very difficult to place securely on the FX without wedging it using your passenger or driver seat. It's probably secure when it is front facing, but I never got to that point since my insurance company forced me to toss the seat after the fender bender.

I think you should consider how secure the seat will be and safety rating the seats have for your infant. If you can shake the car seat with small amount of force, chances are... the seat is not securely installed and you should probably consider reinstalling it for your kid's safety.

Here is some of my feedback on seats:
-Eddie Bauer: I generally don't like their conversion seats because they are the biggest in the market. Rear facing is not cool with these since they are so damn big. Front facing is pretty good.

-I recently purchased Safety First brand using the rating system used by IIHS and I really like this one. It's compact, fits well in all my cars and it appears to be more sturdy than my other 3 seats.

Anyhow... slightly offtopic
