Well I dropped off the FX to the shop to get the vents/some trim painted.

For those wanting to DIY on painting the vents and/or bring them in to get vinyl wraped: Vents are held on by clips. The inner liner must first be removed, then the clips release from the inside allowing the plastic trim to pop out.

Just a side note, those clips are easily breakable, don't try and pop them out from the outside ... just saying is all, not that I have any experience with that or anything :shy::tongue:

I removed mine recently, was pretty easy. Just unscrew the liner and pry it up a bit, then reach in and feel for some clips, once you apply some pressure on them the trim piece should start coming off. Also note there is some double sided tape helping to hold them on.

Hey Sydney I am also inquiring about how to remove the side vents. Did you
have any luck getting directions on how to remove the vents?

I think it's explained a few posts up, remove your wheel liner and pop the clips out from the inside. So basically remove wheel, remove liner (only held on by a few screws, pop out whatever clips you see.

Sydney got rid of his FX back in 2011, and he is not on here much anymore.

I was thinking of taking them off and plastidip them black but I might just plastidip them when it's warm that way I don't end up breaking them if I try to remove them.

Yeah I used a deck of playing cards to slip inbetween the vent & fender then taped off newspaper all around, worked well....

You gotta lose fear of modding right on the car bro. At first i was slow & didnt wanna take things apart. Then afterwards i just rip everything apart here & there. Im gona start doing other things to it pretty soon.
