Removing painted on pinstripe (hoping turbocad can chime in)

update: i went to turbos (john's) shop, met and talked to him and he's a great knowledgeable guy, very dedicated and professional but anyways i had my pinstripe removed.. the job came out to a 98% perfect.. (way better than it looked).. The only reason i didnt put a 100% was because the actual red pinstripe under the black bled thru the clear coat and u can still soo a light fade of it on the right angle.. it has nothing to do with john's labor meaning that he did all he could and nothing could be done for that unless the car got resprayed and i dont have that amount of money..

so onto the pics

you can almost not even see it unless u see it in person at the right angle.. more noticeable on the hatch than anything but he it came out great and im extremely satisfied.. plus ill be seeing him in the near future for more work that i need to get done.. again, thanx John!

Yea, way better n John did a great job.. Who the hell knows why they put pinstripe on i, I bought it used from a BMW dealership so most likely It was some older folk that liked pinstripe n traded to a new x5

i seen a US model fx here and it had pin striping also in the smae spot along with a previous IS member. thought they came out of factory like that for some odd reason

Dealerships sometimes add the pinstripe because its another way for them to make an additional profit off of the car. I recently saw a BMW dealership have a guy come in and hand paint the pinstripe on one of their CPO'd used cars right on the showroom floor. Probably paid the guy $150-250 and then charge an extra $1000 for it. Pretty smart if u ask me.

hey man, your very welcome. sucks a bit that the red blead all the way through the clearcoat but it def looks much better than it did at least I think :) good luck with it bro...
