Removing center stack display.

Does anyone know how to get to the back of the screen in the center stack? I want to bypass the brake safety ground so the aux will work while the car is in motion.

There is not a write up yet for a DIY on the 09 FX.

Maybe Turbocad can pull some specifics up.

I haven't had the pleasure of ripping one apart yet I'm imagining it's very similar though... look for any possiilities of hidden screws or smaller removable covers, then just pull & pop it off... should't be hard to figure out

Haven't gotten around to it yet. But here are the instructions for:

1. Access to harness.
2. Bypass video.


What are you planning to send to the display?

When I do the mod I'll probably either run my Zune or rig a way to send my Portable Nav's feed through to the screen. I like to send my iPhone display to the monitor but it does not have a true video out. It only sends video out when a movie is playing.

An alternative to the Zune for me is the HTC Touch Pro 2. That phone has a true video out. So you can output everything... email, sms, video, web brower, home screen, weather.

thanks. i got a 09 fx with the factory dvd entertainment and nav. just trying to get the dvd to display upfront when the car is in motion.

Finished. Everything applies to FX in general except the wires to hack. I'll do an update once I get a chance to look at the NAV equipped FX's wiring diagram.
