Remove lower side trim??

Is it easy to remove the lower door trim? I plan to wrap my fx soon and I hear that that the lowers need to be sanded and painted in order for the vinyl to stick really well. I assume it would be much easier to do with the trim off of the fx. Ill prob just paint it black for if/when I remove the wrap it will look factory.

Any tips would be appreciated. I like to read, study, and prepare before DIY projects. So far I have done coil overs, custom suede headliner, wheel and grill paint, interior CF wrap etc I want to add vehicle wrap to my DIY mod list
 
You may be able to get away with cleaning them really well and using adhesion promoter. Spray painting it won't necessarily help w/ the adhesion of vinyl. If you get all of the wax and residue off, you'd be surprised at what vinyl will stick to.
