Remote Connection Problem

Hello all,

I have 05 FX35 AWD without Tech Package.
Recently, the remote connection has gone bad.
It needs several times of try in order to lock/unlock the doors.
I even changed out the remote battery to see if it solves the problem, however did not work.
Anybody experienced similar issue? or knows how to solve this bad connection between the remote and car?

Have you tried to reprogram the remote? I think sometimes the program can get erased by magnets, etc.

Also, I travel down to San Diego a lot. The rental car remotes sometimes get interference from the high presense of the military systems. Have you tried to use the remote in different areas?

Is the problem with just one remote or are both acting up? If both then it may actually be your door lock actuator going bad. But again if it's only with one remote then maybe what TimCA suggests.

Yes I try to use the remote in different areas, however it is the same.
Both acting up.
How do you reprogram the remote??

If both transmitters have problems with unlocking the doors, then it's not the transmitters, it's your door actuators going bad. Common issue with our FXs. You will have to have them replaced, not a cheap fix, around $200-$280.
