Refinish/replace interior leather

You have a 2008 so that should be covered under warranty.. I said "should " cause some dealerships like to be idiots about it and give you a hard time. But for the most part they should be able to simply replace it under warranty

Took it in and after they complained about how bad this color was they finally agreed to replace it. Fast forward less than 4 months later and this is what the "FIXED" seat panel looks like. I am Not sure if you can tell from the picture but their replacement panel doesn't even match! Unfortunately, they are the only dealership in town so I am pretty much stuck for now. Just can't express how disappointed I have been with the dealership:tdown:. Love my FX but can't stand the dealership. Any suggestions?

i doubt you're gonna have much luck with the leather seats. your best bet would be to condition them thoroughly more often.

Thanks
I have been conditioning them about monthly or so and I am not really having any issues with the original seats it is just that small panel they replaced. They used sub par materials. I agree with you I think that I am just pretty much out of luck.

I had 5 years warranty, and now I have extened elite i guess,
But when I brought my FX to dealer bout vinyl on side, they told me I need to pay $400 to repair and $1700 replce when I had 5 years warranty.
-_-

I had my driver seat repaired for $400. The upholstery shop removed the leather, un-stitched the ripped seat panels (front and side) and replaced them with OEM panels before re-covering the seat. Looks perfect - as if I bought it new. Can't tell any difference at all.
Were you able to locate the name of the upholstery shop?

I had Louetta Auto Upholstery repair/replace my cracking/torn vinyl sides (graphite) on both front seats for $195/per. Same day service, good as new....

I can honestly say, that is exactly what my gurlfriends 07 g looks like. I just think it is the leather and nothing can be done beside getting it redone with something of a different quality..

Ok, I have the same problem with the brick color seats. Mine is a 2007 FX35. I am out of Warranty and my milage is about 51K. I have been contacting infiniti customer service but they refuse to change it as I am out of warranty. In my opinion this kind of vynil needs to be recalled as it is of a poor quality and you wouldnt expect that from infiniti. I suggest that we ALL file a complaint with the BBB, their phone number is 1800 955 5100. I already called and filed a complaint, so if we all do the same, hopefully infiniti would realize its a problem that needs to be fixed.

It's all about upkeep and how the seats are treated on a daily basis. The brick is pretty durable leather compared to the graphite leather. I have a 2007 with brick and the seats look almost brand new. It's amazing how my seats are. I just conditioned and cleaned mine a few weeks ago too. Have you tried conditioning it first and see what happens? Honestly, I think filing a complaint to the BBB is pretty drastic. It's a five year old car and if you don't care of the leather, its going to wear, crack, crease, etc.

+1 on that. My FX is 2004 and the seats are still in like new condition, no cracks, tears or such, I am actually amazed how well they look, but then I do my best in keeping them clean and conditioned. It's like with our own skin, if you don't use any lotion or moisturizer and it begins to break crack and all that jazz, well then you know where the problem is?:) Just saying :bath:
