I have a question to the forums. This post isn't necessarily to address the pros and cons of running non Infiniti rims like spare tire issues and brake rotor replacement and such but more in the terms of is it possible to do. I have a set of rims that I am quite fond of with the correct size, offset and tires already mounted but it's in a 5X120 bolt pattern. If I use adapters it'll push the rims too far out (22X10 with 40 offset)
My 2 options are
a. Sell off these rims and buy the correct offset but my problem being the shipping to Hawaii on 4 rims will cost a buttload then remount and balance tires. Prolly end up costing a little over a grand or so total
b. redrill hub and rotors. I would need to redrill every time I do a brake job and have no spare or run a BMW spare. Hopefully could get it done for a few hundred.
Question now: Is there even enough room to drill the hub with the wider pattern? It would be a little over 5mm bigger than our current BP so roughly 2.5mm further to the edge from the center. I've seen pics on jumbosrule DIY on front hub replacement and the studs seem very close to the outside edge of the hub and when the rotor then fits over the hub.....Maybe trim a side off of the stud?
anyway, looking for input on this. I got the coilovers on this past weekend(You da man Josh) but was on a time crunch so I couldn't measure things on the hub
