2011 FX35 RWD
The red key icon is on continuously in the lower left side of the tach display since friday. I checked both key fob's batterys (they were good, 3.1 VDC) but put new batteries in anyway (3.34 VDC). Light still remains on when the ignition is on. Both remotes work fine, lock and unlock doors, allow starting when inside the car, etc.
Dealer asked if there was a"battery level" icon showing up, said no, just a little red key icon. Anyone hae any ideas? I do remember my 2009 FX50S did have a "battery level" icon showing up when the fob battery was getting low but not on my 2011 FX35.

Thanks

I resolved the problem by turning the car off, leaving the key fob on the seat, and getting out of the car and closing the door. When I got back in and started the car the light was gone! I thought that when you leave the car and forget to take the key fob with you you get some beeping after closing the door to advise you you left the fob inside the vehicle. I dont get any beeping but at least the little red key light is gone.

may sound dumb but the pants you had on may have interfered with the signal, or phone in same pocket.

That happened to me once, went to the dealer for inspection. They couldn't find anything wrong, but said the previous owner of my FX had installed an auto start, which might have been causing the security light to go on. The sign went away the next day. It wasn't the fob battery. Hope this helps!!

My ikey will sporadically not register for a second or two. It doesn't happen often or on any sort of consistent basis. I chalk it up to the will of the car Gods. When it happens, the red key icon shows up in my dash until it is 'seen'

The little red key icon is back on? Also, now there is a little battery bar gage left of the Cell Phone signal strength bar graph that shows 2 of 3 bars lighted? I have never seen this battery bar gage on either my 2009 FX50S or this 2011 FX35? My son thinks it the cell phone battery indicator but the cell phone battery was "full" and this battery bar gage only showed 2 of three bars? Anyone have any idea what this gage is actually for?

I am not sure but have you checked out the owners manual? There should be a breakdown of the lights and icons in the gauge cluster. Let us know when you figure it out.

The only time I have had that on my FX35 or FX50 is when the I-Key battery was low, I replaced it and it went away.
This is from the manual:
"This indicator appears when the Intelligent Keybattery is running out of power. If this indicator appears, replace the batterywith a new one. (See “INTELLIGENT KEY BATTERYREPLACEMENT” in the “8. Maintenance anddo-it-yourself” section.)"

Even though both key fob batteries were good (3.1VDC) i replaced them with new anyway (3.34 VDC) and this battery level icon still shows 2 of 3 bars (this is next to the cell phone signal strength meter in the top right side of my NAV screen, not in the tachometer bezel area when the red "key" icon is on now all the time?
