Recommended Tires

2006 FX35 AWD
So I'm getting some Falken Ziex S/TZ05 265/50R20 tires. I've seen where are others are running:
  • the Yokohama pradas with positive info about them
  • Goodyear RSA's with mostly negative info
  • Bridgestones with mostly negative/mixed comments
  • and Michelin LTX's with mixed comments
Anyone installed these Falkens or had them on other similar vehicles? Thoughts on other brands?
 
I love my Falkens. Just ordered another set & on way. I have no experience with the STZ05, but they look decent if you want an all seasoner. Also one of the softer compounds in that range. No comparison to the FK510s in regards to performance, but I wouldnt be afraid to try them.
 
Thanks for chiming in gto. I see the FK5102 are ultra high performance summer tires. I'm assuming you are in year round warm weather or just drive your FX during the warmer weather?

I'm going with the all season with the hope they can provide decent traction during light snow and give good grip on wet pavement during warmer weather.
 
Yes. I realize that seeing you're in Stiller land, lol . & I dont use the FX in the snow. Wet/Dry only. MDX for snow trips.
510's also wear much quicker too. Soft & grippy. Have had no issues with Falken brand & mine have stayed balanced and relatively quiet as they age. Going on my 3rd set
 
Ha ha! I just now saw your location being in my old stomping grounds. I used to live all over LA: Whittier, Alhambra, Silverlake,... and never had to worry about cold or snow or rust really:) Really miss being there... I'm actually staying in Detroit for a while now :eek:
 
No, those are the FK453s. The 510 is the replacement that I just received. I kinda like the 453 tread look better, but will judge it when on car . . which wont be for a few months at least. I took advantage of a sale & was special order only & I didnt know how long the wait was going to be.
