Recommendations for an in dash all in one

Im looking to install an in dash "all in one". Gps, hd radio, bluetooth, android/ipod control, pandora, nav traffic etc... Any suggestions on a good head unit? So far Im looking at the Kenwood DNX9990HD. Also need to know if this unit will work on my FX. (No nav screen) so im guessing 7 inches on the size

Latest Pioneer line-up is great, if you want the best iPhone integration.

Only 2 setups i've seen so far

Both don't look good at all, IMO

Yeah Im looking at Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood for comparison right now. And no way id do something like that. I wanna do indash just like the factory screen. Nothing sliding or sticking out

I have seen a bunch of set ups through out my time on iS. I have seen some where the unit is installed on the top where the headliner is or you can remove your ash tray and install it there.

I almost pulled it off, but still working on it. I'm not sure about 2nd Gen screen replacement though(I have orange non color display). It definitely won't fit and will require custom fitting(with good electronic/soldering skills)

Aftermarket double din units(with DVD mechanism) are just too deep for FX screen opening(at least on 1st GEN). Your best bet is a custom carputer built

plus you need somehow to relocate the OEM srceen or built a custom adapter, so your CAR info will be showing on your new aftermarket screen.

Ahhh now theres something to think about. If only there was a way to display car info on an aftetmrket screen then that would make it much more doable. Custom fitting would be next on the list

Besides finding the right navi system, make sure you find a reputable shop that has good reviews and knows what their doing with electricals :top:

Yea I pretty much go to the same shop for years now with different cars. They specialize in custom work. If it can be done theyll know how to do it but damn this car info threw my whole game off

Im gonna go see them in a bit and see what they say. They got all three units im looking at in the store. Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine
(fingers crossed)

So I went and asked if it could be done and they said there's no way. Not enough space behind the screen to fit a double din unit flush, so thats that
